How To Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard boiled eggs are perfect for making egg salad, egg curries or having just as it is for a snack. Eggs are rich in protein.

I usually make hard boiled eggs to snack on just like that with a sprinkle of salt and pepper or for making egg curries.

Today, I'm detailing my way of boiling eggs and getting a perfect result every time. It is really a simple and easy method with the whites getting firmed and yolks nicely cooked and creamy.

  • eggs as required
  • water as required
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions for making perfect hard boiled eggs recipe

1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and add around 2 inches of water.

2. Now put the flame on high and bring the water to rolling boil point. At this stage you can add salt to the water to prevent any crackings in the eggs.

3. Lower the flame and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Switch off the flame, cover the saucepan and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 10-15 minutes. The time may vary depending on the size of the pan, the eggs and the ratio of water to eggs, it may take few minutes more or less.

4. Now strain the water from the pan and pour cold water quickly over the eggs to avoid any further cooking.

5.Peel and serve or use as required in your recipes


  • Boiled eggs with shell can be refrigerated and consumed within 3 days.
